Are you confused by your recent OET grade and score card? Is it not clear whether you have passed or failed?
Below you can see an example of the results that one student sent to us. But what does it mean? Did they pass?
Furthermore, what is meant by GRADE 350? Or GRADE 300?
Looks confusing doesn’t it?
UPDATE: NMC Now Accepts Lower Score
The Nursing & Midwifery Council will not accept a score of C+ (GRADE: 300-340) in the Writing Exam only.
You can find more information about this here: NMC Now Accepts C+ In OET Writing Exam
Understanding OET test results
Unfortunately, it isn’t as simple as passing or not passing. The OET exam board has decided to give a score out of 500 for each area of the exam rather than a clear grade (A-E).
The simplest thing to remember is a grade of 350 or higher in each section is a pass.
We have included the table below for your reference. Look up your score below and use this to help you decide whether your OET score is a pass or not.
OET Results | Score | Equivalent Score in IELTS | Passing Grade? |
---|---|---|---|
A | 500 490 480 470 460 450 |
8.0-9.0 | Yes |
B | 440 430 420 410 400 390 380 370 360 350 |
